While not my own idea, I’m intrigued. I saw this idea on the internet. Originally created for parents to use with kids for Christmas, there’s value for adults too. I have pondered my own responses for several days.
Even if you don’t put pen to paper, consider your personal responses.
Something you want. Something you need. Something to wear. Something to read.
For now, subject to change, here are my responses.
Want: less sadness in our community (wanted to say the world but that’s asking a lot)
Need: balance
Read: The list is sooo long. Better too long than too short!
Wear: More handknitted warmth from Ireland. Why didn’t I buy another sweater? scarf? hat?
I would love to hear your thoughts! Enjoy Christmas with those you love!
Slainte! Susan
Something I want: those people who have been so supportive and encouraging to me, to understand just what am impact they have on my life.
Something I need: Less canine anxiety.
Something to wear: smaller jeans!
Something to read: Another four or five hours in a day for just reading!

Your supporters know, and you tell them frequently!
Wish I could help with the canine anxiety. I know how much that weighs on your mind.
Wear: You’re most definitely working on this! Soooo proud of your life style change!
Read: Me too. And, I promise, if we could get extra reading time, I’d use it only for reading!!

Still never sure if my responses to your posts get posted. But, anyway, I answered!

Perhaps my reading should include the new best-seller: How to Work With Blogs!

When I first read the title my mind went to directly to material things. After reading the post, I began thinking more thoughtful thoughts…
1) Want~ I really want my son to find the love of his life, get married, and have a houseful of grandkids.
2) Need~I don’t really Need anything…I need to stop procrastinating at every stage of my life and get long overdue projects done

Oops…wasn’t finished!~
3) Read~ I have a drawerful and a sackful of books to read…Again, procrastination 4) Wear~My closet is actually well organized at this point. I probably could “use” some decent Yoga type clothing but can get by with what I have. Other wants would be for the terrorist situation to be resolved as well as the gun issue. I want the mass murders to stop. I want Peace on Earth and all humans to recognize that we really all want the same things…a place to live, clothes to wear, food to eat, and people to love and who love us!
Merry Christmas and a Peaceful, Healthy New Year

I too went all over the place when pondering my responses! I intended to do this activity with my littles, but we ran out of time. A great conversation would have ensued over materialism! Merry Christmas Clair!

I am sitting here thinking about the four categories and the answers are numerous
at this moment…
want — the pool guy to call me back
need – the pool guy to call me back
read – a message from the pool guy that he is coming to look at the pool
wear – a smile as this is the worst issue in my life today
